Solar charge for my 12 volt battery
The solar panel arrived in good condition and worked just fine as soon as I connected the wires. I set it up on a work bench to test it out and it has worked very well. The rested battery had 12.46 volts showing and began to rise right away. I have not been able to do a sunny day test because it has been overcast and raining everyday. If there is decent light out the solar panel can do it's thing and that is just what I want. I will have to wait to give a better sunny day report, but for now all is well. Sorry for the lack of sunny day detail. I plan to use the charger on my travel trailer to keep the battery up. I did try plugging in a power inverter to see if it would work with one attached to the battery while charging and it worked as well.Satisfied with the purchase.Would I recommend it: yesCon: the delivery time was a bit long I thought, compared to other purchases - but Amazon has spoiled me with other quick deliveries.

Portable
I have a food truck and the fact that the battery will stay charged in winter is excellent!

WEAK
I guess I did not do my homework as well as I thought. These panels are incredibly weak. I bought 3 to maintain a few different batteries and they just are not doing the job. I think I need a bigger solar panel. I put one on my trailer that had a barely low battery. A week later it is still not fully charged. I put one on my motorcycle that had a fully charged battery and left it for about a week and a half and the battery was half drained by just the security system. I figured it would be strong enough to keep it up. I thought wrong. Going to see if I can just return the solar panel part to the manufacturer to exchange for a larger one before I return these.

As good as it gets
Had a BatteryMinder on the garage roof since 2009 keeping the battery of my show car Mercedes 450SL charged. It's been perfect for the job. When I put it up, it seemed to me better to be raised off the roof an inch, so I glued 4 solid rubber bumpers at the corners. No rain build-up, no leaves, etc.We had a huge wind through here in July, 2010, which broke out the top of a 40' willow 30 feet from the Battery Minder, which didn't move at all.I never take it down. Rain or snow or heat, it keeps working fine.ADD in March 2014:Sold the Mercedes, and switched the Battery Minder to charging one of the two 12v batteries in our whole house generator. I'm buying a 2nd BatteryMinder for the other battery.

Doesn’t work
I hooked this up correctly to my AGM deep cycle battery bank (300AH) and it doesn’t work. I just trusted that it would being lead by the description. Some might say I didn’t hook it up correctly but I did. It’s junk

I had 1 before whitch looks like the 1 in the picture but i received a small square one. I like the rectangle one better because of the height.

Just what i wanted
I'm storing a sports car for the winter in garage with no electrical power and shaded by trees. I needed something quality to both reach from the car to the outside of the building as well as a solar panel that will pull as much light as possible to get as much charging time as possible each day. This panel started providing power as soon as i took the protective foam of of it. It continues to charge all through the day, even after the sun has set. In addition to all of the other electronic features provided, I am very happy with this system. My only wish would have been to extend the electronic boxes from the point of battery connection. In my case, the boxes have to lie on the floor of the car since I'm plugged into the cigarette lighter. With the car cover on the car, i can't monitor the status. The instructions indicate not to lengthen this distance. Thanks for the quality product.

Weird wiring configuration!
Am I the only one who thinks the wiring configuration is all wrong for proper connections? How and where do you mount the controller when there is only about 3 feet of wire with the ring terminals? How do you connect the monitor to the battery when it is already connected to the controller? I intended to use this on a car that sits in my carport most of the time, but now I need an extension wire to be able to connect to the battery (another $19). Their instruction manual would indicate that this used to be wired differently (and properly), but no longer!
