This IR flashlight is amazing
This IR flashlight has a zoom ability that gives a fantastic IR flood at close ranges but can also project an even more impressive, tight rectangle at a range of 150 yards+. Very clear illumination at distance. There are some artifacts when zooming out, but not distracting. This high quality is a great surprise at this low price point. It takes 3 AAA batteries. Highly recommended.

Best bang for the buck
Bought this to mount on another rifle so I didn't have to swap the factory ir flashlight back and forth. With the price and reviews I wasn't expecting much. I just needed something that would get me 50-75 yards for close range pest control with a 22 lr. I was very pleasantly surprised, it was just as bright as my factory Sightmark ir light. Only drawback was it throws a square light pattern and uses 3 x AAA batteries. Went to go mount it the next day and noticed there was a plastic sleeve in the box. It looked about the right diameter and length for 2 x 123A batteries (same as my factory light). Decided to throw in 2 x 123A batteries and give it a try. Wow is that thing bright! Funny, the instructions say to use AAA batteries and don't mention the sleeve or 123A batteries. I haven't shot it yet, so not sure how well it'll hold the focus adjustment. But at this price and performance I don't care. Definitely a best buy!

Impressively bright under NVGs
I was a little concerned given the price but this is a great flashlight if you use 18650 batteries. Also worked with 2 CR123 batteries from my surefire. The glow from the diode is definitely noticeable up close but I put a small dot of tape over the center of the lens and that did the trick.Super bright, focuses well at range, and seems well built. I'm using it for passive aiming with a gen 3 PVS-14 and it projects well even at 150-200 yards. Adding different brightness levels and a strobe function would be nice as that's pretty standard on modern flashlights and it only has on/off functionality. Overall would recommend for the price.

Provides amazing illumination to an IR device but it's NOT a flashlight
This illuminator greatly increases the range, improves the image definition, and extends battery life of my inexpensive set of IR binoculars. The binoculars have their own onboard illuminator, which works fine, but it's essentially a flood light. This illuminator can be focused from floodlight to spotlight so it can increase definition and greatly increase the useful range of the binoculars. By running the illuminator that's on the binoculars at it's lowest setting and using this IR illuminator, I can greatly extend the run time of the binoculars.

For NVG50
Got this for my nvg50. Strong beam, good focus adjustment

850nm and very very bright.
You can totally see the tiny red LED in the end but the thing is like a super bright normal flashlight under the night vision. This works with both Digital Night Vision, and Analog Tube Night Vision. The IR is bright enough to light up an entire auditorium in pitch blackness zoomed out, and when you zoom in, you can see the bright square across a theater, so bright on the walls that it is casting rainbows inside the optics.Good for about 150+ yards down to like, a few feet zoomed all the way out.Really rugged design, pretty much just like all the other high intensity flashlights made of aluminum, only IR.Has no silly morse code or flashing modes, just click On/Off.

Blind in one eye
Led is off center and cause only half target laminated when adjusted fully

A tad weak, otherwise fine.
If you intend to use this as a cheap illum to along with your cheap Gen1/2 NV, it will more or less do the job. The beam is a bit weak, imo, and is probably more in line with proper Gen 3s.For any digital NV you'll need to focus the beam in a bit for appreciable effect, but at the price point it does exactly what it's meant to do and does it well, with the only flaw being that it's a bit too easy to adjust the zoom.
