Great for Teams/Zoom Calls
We've stopped using telephones at work and everybody talks to each other with Teams or Zoom even if they don't want video. Most people have decided to give up their desk phones for extra real estate, including me.But using Teams with headphones or ear buds for unplanned calls is awkward. You have to keep them nearby even if they're not plugged in all the time, then fumble with them when a call comes in. I didn't like it so I bought one of these. Now it sits next to my docking station, plugged in and waiting for a call. I just pick it up and answer on the screen. It's great! From a lifetime of experience I'm good for a long time holding it without much tsuris, and if I get tired I can just switch to buds. As it's still new, it's made for some fun conversations as people see it for the first time on a video call. There are cheaper versions of this idea on Amazon, but I went with this one based on reviews and features. This one doesn't have any buttons to break or not work, and the sound is really very good - especially for those listening to me from a microphone right in front of my mouth. The handset is nice and heavy in the hands, substantial but not too much. You could definitely use it as a club to good effect, LOL. Edit: The short turned out to be in the docking station, not the phone. No problems with this item.

You get what you pay for
You really do get what you pay for. I had bought a wireless Bluetooth version of the one on the right in the pics a while back.. of course mom never used it since it was BT which defeated the "easy" purpose for her. I finally found a wired version about the same quality (maybe even the exact same shell since this cheap one has the same light on it, but they wired it, so it's useless on this one), and for roughly 10-12 bucks - cheap. It worked, but it amazed me how so many things can be so super cheaply or poorly made.. and what really made me write this review and triggered some "OCD" is, how do you cheap out on a short 1/8 inch wire connection, or worse, mess up the orientation of the ear piece and mouthpiece?? The old phones had the smaller concave earpiece with a few holes. I didn't realize how uncomfortable it gets after a while having it protrude with multiple holes as is on the cheap one (not this one). This is very poor quality control. It's a very basic design that's been around since forever, and it bugged me to no end that the design on the cheap one is reversed, as seen in the pics. HOWEVER - this 60s Micro retro one (on the left in the pics for this listing) - is WAY better in quality and design all around - the build is solid, it's got that classic glossy look, they got the orientation right, and the wire is not only much longer, but doesn't crackle from terrible connectors or cheap wiring, nor does it cause cellular INTERFERENCE NOISE and echoes like the cheap one did. In fact, when mom plugged it in, her voice was actually louder and clearer than using the mobile phone by itself (maybe that's unusual, but true in this case). It's a bit heavier, but sturdy always wins, IMO. I do miss the buttons to end or answer a call (which I did like about the cheap one, but even with that, it did some strange things on the phone when pressed), but I can live without it since the phone is within reach anyway and your call ends when the other person hangs up, too. Overall, a great product so far. Kudos.

"Old Fashioned" telephone handset
This duplicate of a Western Electric Model 500 telephone handset is a fantastic add-on to your phone if you grew up talking into telephones that weren't the shape and size of playing cards. You can hold this handset between your cheek and shoulder the way you used to back in the 70s and 80s and wander around the apartment using both hands to do other tasks while your cellphone is stuffed into a pocket. For longer phone conversations this thing can really be a lifesaver. If you're concerned about pressing your phone right up against your skull and irradiating yourself this handset has the added bonus of keeping your cell-phone substantially further away from your head. I've been very very happy with this purchase and have recommended it to others.

10/10
Bought as a gift for my old momma. Haven't seen her use it yet but that's not on the product or the company. Anyways I know it works and it did arrive incredibly swiftly. I would definitely recommend.

Seems to work, Simple to use, but has some issues
Seems sturdy. Just needs to be plugged into phone. I have a Sumsung S21+. Have been told that the voice of whomever I am speaking to echoes loudly back to them while they are talking. Also, phone doesn't ring. I put on vibration and it vibrates once when call comes in, announces who is calling (through product if you happen to have it up t your ear you may hear that) and answers immediately without you choosing to do so. If you step away from your phone, you may have several answered calls without you being there to take them. When speaking on the phone the person whom you are speaking with is very clear and as far as I know they can hear you as well.

Apple Headphone Jack-Lightning adapter required for recent iPhones
Like others have said, an official Apple Store Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter is required for new and recent iPhones.I had bought a different lightning adapter from Amazon and it didn't work. Apple MFI certified doesn't cut it. Buy directly from their apple store online or see if you kept one from the box your iPhone came in.

Excellent Quality Handset. Easy to use. Reduces exposure to microwave radiation.
The handset arrived next day delivery! I'm impressed!I decided to get rid of my landline for a saving of £204/year by replacing my landline phone with my 4G mobile phone.(My Huawei P20 Pro Smartphone does not have an earphone socket, but came with a USB C adapter that plugs into the mobile USB C socket into which the "60s MICRO PHONE" plugs in, and it works perfectly).I installed a guitar hanger above where my landline phone used to sit which works really well as a secure holder for the phone, and connects with my mobile phone that rests on the shelf that was used for my landline phone. (see photo). The reason that I was looking for a handset like this was because it occurred to me that using my mobile phone more at home would mean greater exposure to microwave radiation. So after a bit of Googling I discovered this retro handset on Amazon which arrived today, and I am well pleased! 😁😁😁I was initially skeptical about the quality and performance of this handset because I had read very negative reviews of similar handsets that had a wireless/Bluetooth connection with on/off switch and volume control but quality of the speaker was seriously criticised.By contrast reviews of this "60s MICRO" were very positive. And I received a prompt and reassuring response to an email that I sent to the Seller. The handset itself has a quality and solid feel to it. This is NOT a cheap plastic TOY.There are no buttons to press and no batteries. You select 'Answer' or 'Reject' on your mobile. When the call is ended it automatically closes the connection when the Caller hangs up.I've made a couple of calls today to mobiles and the call quality at both ends was good.I was concerned that I wouldn't hear the "60s MICRO'phone ring when plugged in, but it is my mobile that gives a good clear, loud, ring, so no way I would miss a call. And both phone handset and mobile phone can be taken anywhere in the house just like a cordless phone. I am able to access the Internet on my mobile whilst the "60s MICRO" is plugged in.I have also used the handset with WhatsApp and connection and sound quality were good. This 'simple' handset does everything that my landline does, and much more. And you don't have to be technically minded to use it. It couldn't be simpler. Most importantly it reduces exposure to microwave radiation when making frequent or lengthy telephone calls.

It Works, haven't seen her for days!
Does what it says on the tin, feels just like a real phone. The missus won't admit it, bus she spends half the day on the phone with family & friends back in Ireland. Having gotten used to The Whatsapp and The Messenger, I was getting worried the old brain might be getting fried from the smartphone, the samy type she used to give out to us for spending the day on. So I went looking for a handset. We used to have a wifi handset for Skype (remember the ould Skype) Anyhow it was a curse for staying connected, so ended up binning it.Anyhow now she's used to the mobile, and loving her super red handset (direct line to Trump in the sight house) I can now get rid of the landline, thus saving a fortune on international calls, for only about 30 euro including Post. But I'll miss the smell of frying brain though!

Decent, but I recommend buying a separate adapter if you don't have a headphone jack ...
I bought this for my wife partly as a novelty item but also with a point. We have all-but-retired our landline. However, a mobile can be unpleasant for longer calls. Plus my wife is keen to avoid having the antenna next to her head where possible. On that front, you'd get some benefit with a Bluetooth device, but you can't really beat a wired device. Plus Bluetooth mostly means headsets and that's not what my Mrs would want. I went for the bright yellow version, and it's every bit as bright as I'd hoped. Like a daffodil. The included 3.5mm to USB-C adapter was terrible and didn't work properly for this or for a playing music via standard set of headphones. So I ordered a different adapter from Amazon, and all seems in order. Doubtless the speaker and microphone in the handset are not of the best quality, but they seem to do the job. Now we have to wait and see if it will get much use or just be a novelty purchase.

Works very well but be aware of problem with some Apple iphones
Handset works very well. Good quality sound and great for long conversations when using a cell phone. If you have a recent iPhone which only has a lightning connector and no 3.5mm jack be aware that there seems to be a problem getting this handset to work when using the phone app. You will need to buy a genuine apple lightning to 3.5mm adapter from Apple themselves, generic non Apple adapters don’t work for some reason. I have 3 different generic adapters I bought from Amazon, none of which worked with this handset. I also have 2 lightning to 3.5mm adapters I bought direct from Apple and both of these did work ok.
