Reliable, Quiet, and Packs a Punch for the Price
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this pump earned it.I bought the CWKJ 400GPH fountain pump for a small backyard water feature I was building from scratch. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but this little workhorse blew me away.Setup was simple—plug-and-play right out of the box. It comes with a few different nozzles, which was great for getting just the right water effect I wanted. The suction cups hold tight, even in a deep ceramic bowl, and the pump stays perfectly in place without vibrating or shifting. What stood out most was how quiet it is. Once submerged, it’s virtually silent. You hear the water flowing, not the pump working—exactly how it should be. I’ve run it daily for several hours at a time, and it hasn’t overheated, clogged, or lost power. The flow rate adjustment knob is a nice touch. I turned it down slightly to keep the water from splashing outside the basin, and it responded instantly. The included power cord is long enough to reach a nearby outlet without using an extension.Only thing to be aware of: if you’re using tubing or trying to lift water up more than 5–6 feet, you’ll start to lose pressure. But for low-to-mid fountains, aquariums, hydroponics, or garden features, it’s perfect. After a few weeks of use, no signs of wear. I clean the intake once a week just to keep debris out, but other than that, this pump requires almost no maintenance.Bottom line: It’s powerful, quiet, affordable, and does exactly what it promises. If I ever build another fountain or need a second unit, I’ll be buying this same one again.Highly recommend.

Very powerful!
It's difficult to order a pump based on its GPM rating. It would be helpful if the description would include the size of the fountain it will be used with.My fountain is more of a basin that holds maybe a gallon and a half.Imagine my surprise when I plugged it in and water shot up 18 inches!I'll keep it as I have another larger project in mind. Also, it seems rather noisy, but that might not be a problem in a larger fountain.

Lasts for years
I bought one of these a few years ago, and it worked great. It burnt up, bc my pond liner had a leak, and this pump was left running without water. So I got another one, and I wanted to leave a review, bc of what I found. My little fountain is too far from my outlet, so I have to lengthen the cord. When I cut the plug off the cord and stripped the insulation, I found real copper wire. REAL copper! Almost nothing has real copper wires anymore. I bought a very expensive wire extension kit to put ape handlebars on my Harley, and even it came with crappy silver wires. (Aluminum, I assume)This pump has a ground wire, but I've already cut it off, so it's not in the picture.

Excellent Pump
I'm using this pump in a pond with a fountain statue. The flow is perfect. However, the pond is constantly filling with leaves, so I've had to create a cage with bug screen around the pump to prevent it from clogging up with debris.I also borrowed this pump to resurrect a blocked heater core in my car. Step 1 is to pump an alkali/degreaser solution in hot water through the core to remove all traces of oil and grease. Step 2 is to pump a mild acid like 5-8% vinegar to remove scale and oxidation. Step 3 is to slowly and progressively pressurize the core with a garden hose to blow out any solids. Step 4 is to finish the process by circulating fresh degreaser, followed by fresh vinegar, followed by baking soda and dish soap mixed in hot water to clean the core and neutralize all traces of acid. Lastly, the core must be rinsed by pumping pure distilled water and immediately reconnecting the coolant hoses and starting the car to circulate coolant, which prevents flash-oxidation of the sparkly-clean metal surfaces inside the core.To facilitate this process, I placed the pump into a deep jug, disconnected the coolant hoses from the heater core and used 2 spare rubber hoses - from the pump to the core, and from the other side of the core back to the jug. I filled the jug with each solution and pumped for a few hours, then reversed the flow direction through the core for another few hours. Steps 3 and 4 are much quicker. This pump did an amazing job and saved me the $2,500 required to remove the entire dash and replace the heater core.

Doesn’t last
This pump worked well for only 3 months, and I didn’t even have it on all the time. At first it had very strong pressure and I had it on at the lowest setting since I have a small fountain, but now at the highest setting it can’t push the water up the tubing. It’s very loud as well. My last pump lasted 5 years, I will go with that name brand next time.
