Excellent MFI controller, great size.
If you prefer the slightly smaller form factor, THIS is your new iOS controller. Without reservation, I'd give it 4.5 stars, and it deserves the benefit of rounding up.The CTRLi Micro comes highly recommended from several reputable sources. My personal experience bears this out, as I have found that it performs extremely well, is priced VERY comptetively, feels study and durable, and the size makes it portable without feeling cramped for mid-sized male hands.Reviewers have been divided in their reviews as they pertain to the lack of a rechargeable battery inside the controller. For me this was not a complaint, but rather a feature. After thinking about it (prior to purchase) I determined that I'd rather have sets of rechargeable AAA batteries, rather than be forced to wait some period of time for an internal, non-removable battery to recharge. This is especially true when one considers that an internal battery, by necessity would either 1) substantially increase the size of the controller, or 2) have an extremely limited supply of power. As I wanted the smaller form factor AND the ability to play for as long as I desired, the current battery situation was great for me.My only criticisms, though minor, were of the sensitivity of thumb-sticks and, to an even lesser extent, the clip for holding one's iPhone in place. As for the thumb-sticks, I found that they have a very high degree of resistance that may make their use for subtle control purposes more difficult. Admittedly, this may be solved by adjusting sensitivity for look/steering in games, but as this is not always available, I felt compelled to mention the issue. With regard to the clip, if an iPhone 6 is placed (in landscape) so as to be centered with the controller, with the volume buttons facing up, the lower button will be held down. The only way to prevent this is to offset the iPhone, and the good news is that doing so does not detract from gameplay or the device's secure fixture in ANY WAY. Consequently, this merely the most minor quibble, but it would have been nice if this issue had been avoided. For these reasons, I chose to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 4.5CTRLi vs. MOGA Rebel (re: arm to hold your device)Moving past the issue that MOGA Rebel is of comparative size with the full-size CTRLi, there are arguments in favor of incorporation of the arm to hold your iPhone as opposed to having a separate piece. This was an issue that made me strongly consider the MOGA Rebel, and I ultimately decided against that controller because the value I placed on other aspects of the CTRLi Micro. There can be little doubt that a connected arm is far less likely to be lost than a separate piece. You merely have to rely on yourself to properly reattach the clip to the back of the CTRLi Micro when you're not using it. In defense of the Micro's clip, as I mentioned above, it does an acceptable, if not admirable job of keeping the device secure and, if offset, maintaining full access to all of the buttons and ports. Please research carefully ALL of the MFI controller options that you are considering, as much of this is personal preference, especially now that several manufacturers are producing high quality devices. That said, I feel confident that, if you share my personal preferences for a smaller form factor and power consumption, you will be pleased with the Mad Catz Micro CTRLi. ENJOY!

Solid, portable controller for the best price I've seen for MFi joysticks.
Great little joystick. However, the phone bracket will not stay clipped to the controller, for transport or storage, as intended. It Pops of at the slightest jostle. The controller is a bit light, which makes it feel cheap. Other than those two gripes, it it is very responsive, connects automatically and works with all supported titles. This controller had literally turned my iPad Air 2 into a gaming console, with some games looking every bit as good as Xbox 360 game. A must have for any gamer on the go.

Great for iOS / Not for streaming games
It really depends on what you intend to use it for. If you're going to be playing Pocket Minecraft, Xenowerk, or other iOS only titles, it will work and it will work well. However, if you intend to stream high-end PC games through an iPad and use this as the controller it will not work. Sort of. Basically the thumb stick buttons (L3 & R3), for completely incomprehensible reason were not included. There are many other controllers that support this basic, basic feature. It's sad too because the design is totally fine and I would've gladly kept it and recommended it to my gaming friends, but by leaving these ostensibly needed buttons off as a point of course, they've severely reduced its value and utility.

No need to jailbreak to play your iOS games with a real good wireless controller!
Worked great right out of the box and pairing was quick and easy. I use to jailbreak to get the ability to use my PS3 controller on my device but this works incredibly well and is lightweight. Very responsive.Comes with a stand to place your phone in which could help the mobility of this, but I felt that it gripped way too strong to keep my device in it for long periods of time for fear that it would bend the device (not that it would, just a precautionary thing for myself).

Changing review - poor customer service, clip will break.
Update 2:After 4 months, getting approval for the broken part, and asking politely every month where we stood, Madcatz inexplicably closed my ticket. No warning, and no help. No warranty service. I will not give this company a dime; they are UNTRUSTWORTHY. It's kind of hard to get me to really, deeply dislike a company, but giving me the bird over a tiny plastic clip is clearly a way into my hate. Now moving from 2 -> 1 star. Again, the product still generally works, but I have to vent.Updated review:After a few months of playing, I'm torn. It's definitely a good controller, but the clip WILL break on you without a doubt. Well, that's what a warranty is for, right? After contacting MadCatz, they offered me a replacement part. I thought that would be nice, but it has been 60 days since then, 3 follow up messages, and no answer as to when it will be available.I would have just plunked down $10 for another one, but you can't do that. Besides, I would have bought two or three because they WILL break. The design of the "teeth" that hold the clip to the controller has a structural weak point, and the plastic is too brittle to hold.In the end, I bought a little Spigen stand for my desk or wherever, and it works ok, but doesn't travel well. It's too bad; the clip and customer service spoil what is otherwise a good device. If you get one, get the add-on protection to avoid these problems. Now at 11 weeks and counting, and still no indication that they intend to ship the clip - although they said the part has been approved to ship to me. I think this is all just a scam to make you think they have a warranty. They don't.===============I thought this might be just a cruddy toy, but this is no waste of money. It is a legitimate controller, and paired with an HDMI cable, it makes a great substitute for those expensive consoles. No, the games aren't the same, but as the controller goes, it's as good as any console controller. Just get the one you want for size. I chose the smaller one for its portability, and it reminds me a lot of the small xbox original size (the non-fat one).Try this out, and you'll be surprised at how well this works. I also suggest getting some Eneloop AAAs. Batteries last a good long time, but you'll never worry about it again.
