Easily remove Subaru ball joints
This tool made the removal of the lower ball joints a breeze. I used a 1/2" drive impact and 24mm deep impact socket which pulled the ball joint out of the lower control arm very quickly. A ratchet with a deep socket or end wrench would probably work, just slower. The tool seems to be of good quality and got the job done. The price was reasonable, too. No complaints.

Perfect tool for the job.
If you are looking at this listing before taking your car apart, just buy it now. I exhausted every tool and trick at my disposal trying to pull the ball joints on my 2008 legacy spec.b. I was reduced waling on the control arms with a 50lb spud bar, and got nowhere. This tool pulled them in under 3 minutes. Just grease the threads and make sure you have a wrench that fits the nut.

Absolutely Necessary for Subaru Balljoints
Got this after going through hell on a 2011 Forester. I managed to get both nasty rusted ball joints out with a slide hammer, a little blood, and 2 hours on both sides.Never. Again.I bought this puller the next day. A month later I got another 2010 Forester for busted ball joints. These guys were just as nasty as the other one (Thank the Northeast for that). This puller knocked them out in under 10 minutes. Pretty easy to use but like most impact specialty tools you got to be a little more careful. Make sure threads are on good and that you're the tool is set straight. Not only is it inexpensive, it's invaluable. Even if you don't work on Subaru's often, it's as vital as a Toyota Filter wrench. Also, it's AstroPneumatic. Nothing but quality here.

Absolutely required for ball joints
If you are at all considered doing ball joints on a Subaru this tool is absolutely worth the money. I spent 3 hours hammering on the driver's side control arm and spent over 80 bucks for tools and parts to get that ball joint out. With this tool the passenger side ball joint was out in minutes not hours. Not fuss or frustration. Worked great with a ratchet and socket don't even need an air impact. I wouldn't even attempt this repair without this tool, save yourself the headache.

Great for subaru techs
This tool works perfect for lower ball joints on newer subarus. The only flaw I have seen with this tool cause I have been through a few of them, is the part that threads onto the ball joint. If it is not threaded much due to rust or something it will strip out. Granted I use an impact with this tool.... but hey time is money

Seriously a DIY life saver
I watched dozens of Subaru lower control arm replacement videos and the overall process is straight forward. The one part that I had a problem with was the ball joint. I could not get it out. After 2 days of trying to figure out how to get the ball joint out. Whacking it with hammers, spraying with pb blaster and trying to pry it off, I finally found this tool. This was absolutely the right tool for the job. You will also need a ball joint separator to remove the ball joint from the LCA, but once its removed, you can thread this tool on and use a 24mm wrench/socket to slowly pry it out.So for reference:- this tool- 24mm socket or wrench or adjustable wrench- tie rod separator/pickle fork

Works great!
This made quick work of my ball joints. The car is a 2014, we live in the rust belt, the factory ball joints weren’t gonna go without a fight. This tool made it a breeze. Put my impact gun on it and zipped the joint right out of the knuckle.
