These skates delivered everything I hoped for. -Sharpening and Fit- I had the skates sharpened before my first use (a must for any new pair), and they performed flawlessly on the ice. The fit was true to size, providing a snug but comfortable feel that offered great control and support. The padding is just right, firm enough for stability but still good during longer sessions. -On the Ice- I’ve used them for both recreational skating and some pick-up hockey games, and they’ve held up beautifully with the blade not dulling rapidly (a sign of poor quality steel). They offer excellent balance and responsiveness, making turns and stops feel effortless. We purchased these for Christmas for our teenager, and they have worked great. We are just casual skaters, skating on outdoor rinks and lakes a few times each winter. He wore some thick socks for extra comfort, skates arrived sharp and ready for skating, and once tightened well - provided great ankle support.

I'm still plenty satisfied with them as my first personal skates, although that itself means I have no other baseline. The quality is more than satisfactory, and I get more than enough support, the boot is a tough and rigid hardboot, which I'm a fan of as I always liked ankle stability over flexibility on inline skate boots. I was on the factory sharpen (which was infact properly profiled and concaved) till about 2-3 weeks ago and will say I recommend a sharpen pretty early on, but it's also not necessary in the sense that you can't skate without a sharpening. I also recommend you replace the laces with waxed ones as well, it helps with tightening any skates, but especially more rigid ones, alongside longer lace lifespan/durability and cleanliness.

Terrific skates for recreational skating. I don't think I'd use them for actual hockey. I bought a pair of these for my wife who was struggling with rentals since she decided to come down to the rink with me and my son for some casual skating every now and then. The size was an exact match of her shoe size. She says it's comfortable around her feet and it holds very well above the ankle. It can be secured more tightly above the ankles than modern plastic hockey skates so it gives more stability over more flexibility which may be favorable for less experienced skaters.

I LEARNED SKATING AND PLAYING HOCKEY ON LEATHER SKATES DECADES AGO, SO WHEN I GOT BACK INTO IT AFTER MANY YEARS I PURCHASED THE MODERN CCM AND BAUER SKATES AND FELT LIKE THEY DON'T ABSORB ICE IMPERFECTIONS AND THE PLASTIC DESIGN FELT WAY TOO RIGID AND SKATING ESPECIALLY BACKWARDS WAS VERY UNSTEADY, SO I KEPT SEARCHING AND FOUND THESE 5TH ELEMENTS MADE OF LEATHER, FABRIC AND PLASTIC. THEIR DELIVERY WAS VERY FAST, THEY CAME IN A BEAUTIFUL BOX, LOOKING FANTASTIC, ONE SKATE WEIGHS 1074 GRAMS WHICH IS HEAVIER THAN THE MODERN SKATES, SO I WONDERED IF I WILL BE SLOWER. I PUT THEM ON TODAY FOR A TOUGH HOCKEY PRACTICE SESSION AND THE SECOND I STEPPED ON THE ICE THEY FELT AMAZING, ABSORBING ICE IMPERFECTIONS, SO COMFORTABLE, SO STABLE, WARM, ACTUALLY LIGHT AND FAST IN EVERY DIRECTION. I WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER PAIR. SIZE IS TRUE TO THE REGULAR SHOE SIZE. YOU GET YOUR MONEY REALLY WORTH.

Great skates for the money! My husband loves them and is now lightening fast chasing our grandkids around the ice.

These are awesome! OK value, I suppose good shoes are just expensive. Son loves them, they hold up extremely well. Tie up tightly. Laces are long enough. Shoes are comfortable.
