Leather Binder Handmade by Rustico in The USA, Top-Grain, Professional, Soft, Standard 3 Ring Spine, 1.5 Inch Rings, Organizer, Planner, Store Important Documents

My dad was a cobbler of handmade sandals back in the day. I know how good leather, properly tanned should smell and feel. It's disappointing that often, particularly when buying over the internet, the leather products one buys turn out to be inferior.This isn't that. This is a lovely binder that I'm enthusiastically using to organize the family recipes. It's soft, not stiff leather, but not so soft that the filled binder can't remain vertical on the bookshelf. The binder size does accommodate for using 8-1/2" x 11" sheet protectors that are actually slightly wider than that and lots of binders fail in that area.The stitching is straight with no loose areas, the rivets holding the three ring metal binding are secure, and if I had a complaint (I don't) it's that I can't figure out the cool way the straps were tied to secure the folio. I've made do, but it's not tied as cool as it was when first unwrapped.I'm pretty sure the recipe collection isn't going to fit in one binder, so I'll just have to break down and get another one (maybe take a photo of how it's tied).

All in all this a very handsome binder, however, I must include a few observations to add clarification:- There is no rigidity in the leather (aside from the spine), so expect it to be floppy.- There is a VERY strong leather/quasi-chemical odour which takes a very long time to go away. If you are sensitive to that type of olfactory overload I would probably select a different product. I personally like the smell of leather but I'm well aware that it affects some people very negatively.- The price is honestly a bit high. Leather products are expensive, yes but $60 seems a pinch steep. That being said, I'm still glad I acquired it, I just wish it wasn't quite so much.-There aren't any interior sleeves on the covers themselves (as there are in a traditional binder), so storage in this product is exclusively limited to the rings themselves. There is a nice length of leather string which allows one to tie the covers shut.-The surface is very prone to scratching, but this is often expected and considered part of the 'character building' process.-Some have mentioned that the binder strip itself wasn't attached very well but the one I received seems very secure.

Very high guality

I was hesitant to purchase this product not knowing if it would suit my needs. I wanted something that I could you use in conjunction with a legal pad. This fits great. Plus the legal pad allows the folder to have a little firmness. The folder is extreamly flexiable and that is good. One of the best features, I have to say, is that it smells SO good! I was actually surprised at this. Everyone of my co-workers, as I showed them, all commented on how good it smelled. I personally think that this is a fantastic product for the $$. I looked at many similar products and this really was one of the best deals. Do your own research but I think that you will conclude the same.

I like this notebook a lot!, Flexible, easy to use, flattens for writing in, big enough for plastic insert pages and label pages without sticking out. Looks professional, durable, and is beautiful leather. REQUEST: If you would make a three ring (reinforced) leather oversized pencil pouch to compliment it; that would be perfect. Great product made with quality!
