BEFORE I ordered this guitar I just couldn't BELIEVE that they could sell it so cheap so I inquired of other purchasers and even the seller. After relative assurances that they were actually selling the guitar for the advertised price I decided to purchase it. When the guitar arrived I was so THRILLED! I was like a freakin' kid in a candy store. Couldn't help but get on it immediately and start strumming....not knowing how to play, but I didn't care, I was enjoying MY guitar!!! I have been wanting a guitar for like....FOREVER! I just couldn't stop laughing for joy! I pulled everything out to make sure it was all there. Nothing was missing. I set it up and started to get down. Of course I had to crank up my Galaxy S4 to video the whole event.....my first ever notes played on a guitar, so when I get famous I can sell that video for a MILLION DOLLARS! I'm no guitar aficionado, but looking at it, strumming on the strings, feeling the frets..nothing was amiss. Because of some critical reviews I decided to take it to the local guitar shop to let the "experts" look at it. I told them to re-string and tune it for me and the repair guy told me those strings were fine. He did say it is still good to change strings on any guitar, even from their shop when you first buy it because you don't know how long the guitar has been sitting in warehouses, on shelves etc I told him to proceed with the re-stringing. Before he started though he plugged my guitar in his amp and started playing and said the strings sounded good already. I told him change the strings anyhow then I will know what fresh strings sound like so I can compare the sound to when I strum the poop out of my guitar within a couple months time period. Gotta learn these things at some point in time you know and of course you need some base measurement to compare other sounds to. After the repairer re-strung it and tuned it he plugged it into his amp again and started playing. I told him it was a inexpensive guitar I bought off of Amazon. He asked how much I paid for it and I told him $67. He couldn't believe it and told me my guitar sounded great! He said a lot of more expensive guitars don't sound as good as mine does, but the repair guy KEPT playing my guitar. What The....? GIMME MY GUITAR MAN!!! He was trying to enjoy MY guitar a little bit too much so I stuck my hands over the counter and he relinquished it. I left that store knowing I had bought a great guitar at a great price because I had gotten an unbiased, expert opinion. I highly recommend buying this guitar kit for anyone who wants a great starter kit.

I bought this for Rocksmith. Works freaking awesome for the game. What seperates me a small bit from other Rocksmith players maybe, is that I am around tons of Guitar players (who have been playing for 10 years) and I really wanted to get into it. I had never even held a guitar, but I wanted to learn so I could jam in a year or two with my friends and co-workers. They made fun of me for buying a beginners package saying how crappy the guitar will be. I was worried, but when I got the package I was relieved to see it was not a rip-off. The guitar seems to be built well and stays in tune (according to the game, which seems to be pretty accurate). The amp works great... unbelievably loud... to play it in my man-cave... I can only turn it up 3-5% or it is overpowering. It also comes with a single piece of paper that is like a cheat sheet for beginners for guitar with basic cords and such. However, there is a little fret buzz when you strum the Low E string. From what I googled on this, it seems this can be because of a bad "nut" on the neck... more than likley if I took the guitar to a Guitar shop and had them restring it and fine-tune the things on it it would be great... but thats $50. At first I could tell no difference between this Guitar and my Friend's $1,500 Les Paul (because I was/am SOOOO new to the instrument... any instrument actually) but have quickly started to see the differences. This Guitar seems to sound sloppy and loose and feels that way after getting a feel for the guitar in general(even though it DOES keep tuned very well). Nicer Guitars seem to feel more fine-tuned and responsive and hold notes longer. Playing this Guitar and a high-end one side by side (by someone who knows what they are doing) provides very different sound to someone who knows what to listen for. Simply put, this guitar is more than worth the Money... but once you get addicted to Guitar, which I have in the two weeks I've had it (I've played for probably 30-35 hours already)... I am already trying to rationalize reasons to buy a much nice (and more expensive) Guitar that plays "smoother". I give this product 5 stars because of the price. If its wasn't so Cheap, I'd never have gotten into Guitar... now I am addicted and see the benifits of a more expensive Guitar, and appreciation for the instrument.

Its a starting guitar, thats all you need to know. Without a doubt, at some point (if you're still into the craft) you're gonna have to upgrade, but it worked for me for about a year. A few hassles I had to deal with- 1) The cord is complete shit. Don't even waste your time trying the thing, just buy this one - Kirlin Cable IWB-202PFGL-10/OL -10 feet- Straight to Right Angle 1/4-Inch Plug Premium Plus Instrument Cable, Olive Green Tweed Woven Jacket - This worked and still works for me with the amp, i love it, high quality. 2) The guitar tends to lose tune every time I played it, your gonna have to get into the habit of tuning it every practice. Not that big of a hassle, just something youll have to deal with. 3) The amp, hilariously, doesnt even say treble and bass - it says "high" and "low." doesnt effect much but just shows it is cheap. 4) The amp, does in fact have a distortion button. However, if you use it, the amps volume can't go down. Doesn't matter much to me cuz I love playing loud, although it is something you should be aware of. Its annoying sometimes. 5) Finally, the amp itself makes some static noises - especially with the distortion on. The cord i linked above helps a ton with it, though it still is annoying. Alright, to be honest, you can probably find a better small amp out there. I realize that if youre looking into this package, you probably dont know much about guitars, which is fine. I didn't and it served its purpose for a year. I played "smells like teen spirit" by nirvanna, "shook me all nite long" acdc, and other awesome songs which is what we are all here for after all. All in all, the sunburst on the guitar looks sorta cool as well.

I've purchase four similar-type guitars lately for practice in building electric guitars. This guitar is surprisingly nice. It should be considered a "starter" guitar-- but a good one. Here are the pros and cons: - Has only one pickup and that's near the bridge. Don't expect rich, deep tone. This guitar is obviously designed to appeal to the younger generation looking for metal / distortion guitar playing... thus the location of the pickup. + But it's a rather nice humbucker and pulls the best sound possible out of this guitar, considering its location. + The body is pristine, gorgeously finished. The wood (at least on the one I received) was well-assembled with joint marks just barely visible and blended in with the transparent / grin finish. It's an attractive guitar. + A swirl-maple 1/16" veneer on the surface of the neck provides an attractive and durable surface + The neck is straight and sturdy. I did not have to adjust the guitar or action at all... rare with off-the-shelf guitars. + The amplifier with this-- although predictably "tinny" due to the small speaker size-- is surprisingly robust. The basic tone is clear and clean, even at higher volume. Hit the "overdrive" button and you can get all the dirt and grit you want. Overall, it is a much better amp than a similarly-configured competitors guitar set (which I also bought. In short... this guitar set is better). + I like that the bottom of the neck (where it joins the body) is rounded and smoothed rather than cut off straight as we see with some guitars in this price range. + Comes with everything you need-- guitar cord, strap, picks, tuner and gig bag. In summary-- this is a nicer guitar set than I thought it would be when I first purchased it. You get the entire set for about the price of a Fender Squier and the nicer tone and power of a humbucker pickup (although of course, not the tonal versatility of a 3-pickup Squier). I consider this guitar set to be well worth the purchase price and a good choice for a beginning guitar player.

The guitar and amp are ok for the price, but there were some significant issues due to the bridge being almost an inch misaligned on mine. I was able to redrill the bridge and fix the issues and the guitar is fine now. Would be nice if it were done out of the box. Regarding just how bad the bridge misalignment was, firstly the treble pickups were almost completely off the strings, so the guitar was producing high pitch noise at about half or less volume. Second, the bridge was set too far back so even when perfectly tuned, the guitar when fretted produced sound at about a half semitone off key. Sounded absolutely terrible out of the box. Perfectly tuned, it sounded like I was hitting the wrong fret. The bridge was so far back that the maximum adjustment on the bridge screws was still considerably off intonation. I redrilled the holes to align the bridge with the pickups and move it forward so I could calibrate the string intonations properly. It works a lot better now, and if this were the sound it had out of box I would give it five stars. It is perfectly adequate for an electric guitar. I still haven't perfected the intonation, but now the bridge screws are at least in the correct range so I can fine tune it. It would be nice if they used a intonation tuner to set up the guitar before packing, or at least did some basic quality control to make sure the bridge is aligned. I'd buy it again since I don't mind tweaking instruments, but my example was not a good guitar for a beginner. Too bad, the fundamentals are fine.

So, I was allowed a birthday present this year, and they said, you can pick. I went online, searching for anything that I believed I would enjoy. I love music, making music, and playing music. A musical instrument was the perfect idea. But there are a few things I never buy offline, paintballs, camping gear, or musical instruments. I recentley broke that rule by buying a backpack from Amazon (Kelty Pawnee 55) and ended up loving it, good luck right? wrong, I saw this guitar kit, and I must say, my jaw dropped. I have played the Viola for 6 years now and the Guitar for about 6 months. I wanted an electric, without losing some limbs to pay for it. This package, is a GODSEND!!!!! The amp is small, yes, but I must say, it's sound is so loud and good that my neighbors from down the road almost came down to tell me to shut up. Along with the amp, the guitar was beautiful, I could see myself in the reflection of the guitar perfectly. Now you may have heard, "I've just got the guitar today and the strings won't stay in tune! Piece of crap don't buy!" Listen very carefully, from someone who knows plenty about musical instruments, I know plenty about strings, and these are new strings, they are gonna need to be tuned every once in a while, until they settle in. My only complaint about the amp is the lack of customization in the sound, it's not terrible, but you can't get the "metal" sound, or the kinda strainy sound, but other than that it's fantastic. Also, for the best sound quality, turn the guitar volume down and the amp volume up, if the amp volume is higher, you can customize the sound more. PROS: -Beautiful and affordable guitar -Great sounding Amp and guitar -Amp cord (cord to guitar) is actually really lengthy, but not too lengthy -Feels comfortable to play CONS: -Amp is limited sound-wise -Guitar doesn't hold lengthy E(high) string notes OVER-ALL if you are planning on buying this for a child, Do it now if you want to get this, you will not be mistaken. I'm 14 years old and i had a strange attraction to guitars since about a year ago, i saw a 300$ price tag and was immediately put off. I decided to go on amazon to give it a shot about and i found this really cheap guitar set. at first i thought it was too good to be true but then when my guitar got to my house, i was ecstatic too see everything was of high quality. The guitar is a Davison and is electric but has a nice slight acoustic sound and feel to it which i like. The amp that comes with the set is small but boy does it pack a punch! I noticed a slight hum when the amp was set to about 4 or higher, but from what i heard from other reviews it seemed as if that hum will blow my house down, it was very slight and can only really be heard when you stand approx. a foot from the amp. the gig bag is nice but i just use a hard case that i bought separately. This guitar, accessories pack is great for beginners because its cheap, its good quality and i saw a nice surprise when i saw my picks, there were 6 picks that i got and they vary in thickness, 1.50m, 1.20m, 0.96m, 0.81m,0.71m, and 0.58. I'm slightly new to guitars and i just used what my friend had at the moment but with the different sizes i learned that 0.96 feels a lot better to use than his 0.50m pick. guitar picks are a minor thing but i really liked the variant sizes. The strap is probably my only dislike but not really too bad, its sturdy but is itchy, especially when its hot in the room you are playing in. It comes with a pitchpipe which is pretty good to tune with vs. 5th fretting it and possibly mis-tuning your guitar. All in all, 5 out of 5
