Miuzei Night Vision Camera 5MP 1080p

This infrared Night Vision camera is awesome. I have been using it for the past few days with no problems during install or integration. I now have a front facing camera for my MagicMirror, which adds an incredible new level of interaction with face detection, motion detection, and photos via voice command. I would buy more of these if I had more RPIs!!

The camera seems to work well so far and was relatively easy to set up (after watching some Youtube videos). No instructions are included in the box. The night vision mode is very nice. I can see my 3D printer working via Ocataprint in a room with no lights on. Lost one star because of the lack of setup instructions and the fact that the lens caps for the the IR LED's are not permanently attached to the boards. They are press-fit over the LED's and come off very easily. I guess I can take care of that with some type of adhesive but I knocked them off several times while assembling and setting up the camera. Not sure why the lens caps are removable. Overall, very satified with the product and would recommend it to a friend.

ran this camera to test with motioneye os on raspberry pi 4 and 3. I then ran it with another tape cable "purchased separately," on a pie zero. gave better images then my home surveillance cams.

How can I turn off the red lightsEven when the raspberry pi is connected to the electricity and is turned off those red lights doesn't turn off and gets super hot

No customer support, so requested another one for raspberry pi 3b+ thinking it should work, but both cameras failed. Returned both, frustrated about the entire experience...6/29/2019 revisionFound out the emails from Miuzei's customer support actually went to spam, and they sent me the second replacement which still doesn't work after following the instruction video. Despite this, I think the original camera without any instructions might've somehow toasted my raspberry pi b+, no idea.

Camera runs a little hot, picture is decent but a little soft - could not get a "sharp", crisp image as compared to a Pi 5MP standard camera, but it is usable. Price isn't that bad - set up to Web-stream monitor inside a rv while away.
