So Far I like it Quite Well
Received 5 days ago. The MP3 player works quite well. It's very light-weight. Case appears to be polystyrene. It might be a bit nicer if it were made of polycarbonate, but that would probably increase the price. I won't know how durable or reliable it is until I've had it a while longer.Navigating the device menu is a bit tricky. User instructions are rather minimalistic. More detailed instructions would be nice. I've been able to figure most of it out by just playing with the device. Once you get used to how the controls work, it's pretty easy to navigate to different folders. I haven't been able to figure out how to set-up and use playlists yet. As of yet, the I use it is to find a folder based on artist name and then play that folder.I loaded music onto it by syncing to Windows media player. The response to a question I sent to EvoDigitals said that the best way is to just copy files and folders by drag and drop. Perhaps that's the method to set up playlists? Put them all the songs into a folder and then copy the folder to the device memory? I'll have to experiment a bit to figure that out. I'll post updates to this review as I learn more. Once I get everything figured out, I may write a PDF with complete user instructions to post.

I'm glad I bought it
This is a remarkable little gadget that does everything as claimed. I'm glad I bought it. My unit also came with a pair of earbuds and a USB connection cable. It will do exactly what I wanted it for, provide MP3/FM radio while I am out riding my bicycle while offering the capability to dictate and record when needed. The cool thing about how it records dictation is that the recorded file is in the *.wav format, making it easy to transfer the file to PC with out having to use proprietary compression software as most of the other portable devices do.This device is way easy to load and unload because it plugs into your computer just like a thumb drive and can be accessed through the computer just like any other local drive. Once loaded with music and operating independently, the device reads the directory structure (including sub directories) as you put in it, and allows you to select whatever directory you want. The instructions are a bit brief, and there are only a few control switches that control many varied functions depending on which operational mode you are in, so remembering which function in a particular mode is performed by which switch has a bit of a learning curve. More comprehensive instructions would be a plus. However the people at Evo bundled an email address with my order and offered up front to help with any issues that might be a problem, how nice is that?My only concern is wondering how durable it's going to be, since there are so few switches performing so many different functions it certain that each switch is going to get a good work out, and the hardware isn't of the "100,000 hours between mean failures" type, so my guess is that it's a matter of when, not if things break down. I'da gladly paid an extra $20 to have this thing a little more heavy duty, but it is what it is, and at the price it's offered, I guess the solution to that is to buy 2 and have a backup. All in all this is a device that does many things well, I'm satisfied.

For my car, literally plug and play!
For my purpose, this was better than expected. Unlike my old Lincoln MKZ that had a jukebox, my 2015 MKZ no longer does, and so I had to get an MP3 player to store all my music on, so I could listen to it in the car. I dragged and dropped from my music library into the Evo, not knowing what to expect, and dreading the amount of time I might have to spend trying to figure things out. I connected it to the car's USB, and the car's system just started playing all the songs. The car shows all the info, including a picture of the album cover! I can even choose album, artist, song, or genre. I was expecting to have to read manuals, and tweak settings, etc. None of that. It was literally plug and play. Very happy with this gadget for the intended purpose. If I get a chance to test the other features, I will update this review.

Very poor product
I've been using this for 6 months now, there have been multiple software issues. The mp3 player will periodically freeze up, and have to be rebooted. It has also started (in the past month) skipping around randomly, playing a little bit of one song, then playing half of another, then a few seconds of another, and then freezing up. The casing is a very cheap plastic. Almost right away the play/pause/on/off button started to depress into the player at an angle.I do not recommend this player. Maybe if it was only ten or fifteen dollars it would be worth it.

I love the player
I love the player, though it seems to ignore a lot of the songs on my list. I ordered two. One was D.O.A., the other still works. I use it mainly during long drives, hooking it to my car stereo using a 3.5mm audio cord.
