To cheaply made. My slightly arthritic hands could not open and close them easily.

Love these containers!
My wife and I love these containers. I ordered two a while back from a vendor, not through Amazon, but upon searching through my past e-mails, I was disappointed to discover the site had somehow disappeared, thus, preventing ordering more from said vendor. Having recently become a Prime member, through searching, I was happy to find them on Amazon. What we really like about these containers is, the individual compartments are large enough for our needs, unlike a size smaller, from the same maker, that I inadvertently ordered. I wanted exactly the same ones that I had previously ordered and last week, I was elated to verify that the four that I just recently received were "exactly" the same. Now that I have three and my wife has three, should we go on an extended vacation, we will not need to take multiple bottles with us. Yes, it takes some time to fill the compartments with daily dosages, but the time that you take to fill them, one per X weeks (in our case, once per 2 weeks on average), saves time in the end by not having to open a multitude of bottles per day and remember what dosages to take.On a related note, upon purchasing a case for a tablet, which ended up being too small for our tablet, I discovered that a Medi Chest container fit precisely inside, so instead of a jerry-rigged method of ensuring no spillage, by using a cut up folder and rubber bands, we now have a very convenient method of ensuring our vitamins and supplements are not strewn throughout our suitcases and carry-on bags should one or more of the individual container lids open. We have one case per Medi Chest. For such a mundane item, I find it to be a very satisfactory purchase for a practical use.In case of interest, the case in discussion is the following: Case Logic Ibira 10" Tablet Sleeve (IBRS110BLK),

One of the two pill boxes I ordered has one load window that would no stay closed.
I am currently using total of 8 of those pillboxes. They work best for me, but I also load a total of 13 boxes of pills every 3 months. I also use some smaller pillboxes for the sake of taking them on travel. There is also a few similar large boxes that I have less favor for. Those take up more space than the favorites that I ordered and am writing the review for.

Simple, functional, and economical
I was delighted to find this exact replacement for the pill organizer I used for many, many years. At last, though, the original Thursday container was mislaid somehow and the lid on Saturday's little "morning" box had to be held on with cellophane tape. After looking at all the organizers and reading the reviews—lo and behold! I found my good, old, reliable one still available . . . and at a terrific price! Some reviewers were put off by the black paint's wearing off terms for the times of day, but after all those years the letters on my old organizer could still be made out even without the paint. So . . . I can say that not one thing about this item disappointed me.

Somewhat adequate at absolute best, better choices are out there
I had been using a standard sized organizer similar in set up to this, but wanted something that held everything I needed and this seemed like a good buy. Not so, at least for me anyway.Pro: Size of each compartment is extremely generous. I have no problem having supplements such as calcium chews and fish oil in this along with medications and room to spare. For those like myself not needing medications at bedtime I find the bottom compartment handy for keeping an extra dose of my allergy medication and the like.Cons: Compartments don't close reliably or snap well at all. I've placed this in my lunch bag actively thinking "I had best make sure I position this so it won't open", but it did anyway despite my planning. This might be an OK product for someone who doesn't plan on taking them out of the tray and just using it at home until they can find a better one. The plastic seems rather flimsy as well and won't likely last too long. The compartments don't snap into the tray very well either and while putting one day's container in it often shifts another one out of place.I'll be able to give this away to someone without a problem and thankfully they aren't all that expensive, though I don't like throwing any amount of money away. I typically find reviews for products sold on Amazon to be very reliable - most people who wrote a review seemed to think it was a very good product with a few dissenters. When many more people than not give a positive rating to a product I'm more inclined to purchase it. This is one of those rare cases in which I wish I had paid a bit more attention to the dissenters. I've only owned this for 3 days and am not impressed at all.

Convenient with Ample Room
I ordered both this and the similar Four-a-Day Weekly One Day at a Time Med. Organizer Large since I wasn't sure which would work best for me, and I fill two weeks at a time. The pill area size is about the same, and you can pop out a day at a time with each. The Apex hinges on the right, and the other hinges on the left. The footprint is similar; this one is a bit narrower side to side and a touch longer from top to bottom. There is more space between days on the other one, whereas the Apex tight fit would be less desirable if you have weak or extremely short fingernails. The Apex frame is more rigid. The other frame is thinner and arrived with a tiny crack (which should not affect long-term durability). Six large pills (such as calcium or fish oil) will fit easily in each compartment. I fit four large pills and some smaller ones with room to spare, so the medium size probably would have worked. Be advised that if you like to carry a day's supply with you, these will not fit in a small purse and will create quite a bulge in a pants pocket.
