Our existing ceramic hob lost it's marbles and then gave up the ghost completely one morning! So I had to do something quick if I wanted hot porridge. Where does one go in North Devon if you haven't the time or inclination to jump in the car and travel miles to find a replacement hob (or anything else)? Amazon to the rescue as always! I envisaged paying several hundred pounds for a new hob - but no - Amazon advertised this unknown name of Gionein (at least unknown to me) ceramic hob for less than £100, free delivery. I read the reviews (always so useful) and decided to give it a go. Well it came on time, well packed, looking very smart and business like (for a ceramic hob). Fitting was almost a doddle, since I had fitted the original several years ago. Just one minor problem I encountered - the tabs on the end of the feed lead were flattened rather than round which meant they didn't fit in the junction box terminals too well resulting in the screws tilting side ways - not really desirable considering the high currant drain needed if four plates are in use at one time! May I please suggest that when purchasing a replacement hob you purchase a new 30 amp junction box at the same time, if that's what your hob will be connected to. In use the Gionien ceramic hob is easy to use, clean, and very effective - the "boss" is well pleased and that being so is the highest recommendation possible. Thank you Gionien for an excellent product and Amazon for marketing it with such excellent service.

This was to replace a Bosch that had a tin dropped on it.Negatives; To me the touch sensitive controls are a bit illogical, for example they're side by side with the top ring controls at the ends of the line. It's easy to hit the wrong burner. There are no half-power intervals, it's 1 to 9, and if you increase power past 9 you get to1 not zero as with the Bosch. It's also a little bit slower than the Bosch and the rings only come in two sizes, not 3 as with the Bosch.Postives: It has a timer. Now I have a timer on the hob as well as the oven, no more overboiled veg.You have to switch it on using one of the touch sensitive controls, so it doesn't have the annoying 'child safety' feature of it's predecessor, whereby it would seem to start, then cut-out and you'd have to re-set it.The quality of the materials seem not really any different from it's predecessor, it works perfectly well and cost two thirds less.I am very happy with my purchase.

I did a lot of research and this one kept on popping up in the reviews and for the cost, it was worth a tryits easy to install, simple instructions - two issues that i noticed - the connecting cable is short, too short IMO, we had to change it for a longer one to get to the cooker socket, its easy to change and your electrician can do it but it will cost you. The other issue / observation is that the whole hob gets hot when using several of the rings, maybe is normal and looking on line, it seems to be with most hobs, I just hadnt experienced it on my old hob (which was part of freestanding range)overall pleased with it and its value

So far so good, already used for two weeks, easy to use and not much problems, the only issue is the timer not displayed directly, but buy with this price , I can’t complain it

The media could not be loaded. Bought this hob after the one that had been in the kitchen about 10 years was looking rather tired.This hob keeps up with the well known brands and is a fraction of the price. Nice looking low profile and the touch sensitive buttons work well, they also allow for more pan space as opposed to conventional knobs which is a further convenience.Temperature is controlled well and the elements are powerful. In relation to installation, very easy comes with a reasonable length of flex and can be installed by anyone with reasonable working knowledge providing the existing wiring is up to scratch. Highly recommended.

Bought this Hob back in 2020, after 1 year it stopped working so I had to ask for a replacement as it was in warranty. The replacement Hob lasted for a year too. When I contacted the seller to request a replacement again, they first told me that it was not in warranty anymore. After arguing that the warranty should have been reset they accepted to replace it but they said it was not in stock.I checked the product page and it was clearly in stock, however they kept denying it. It got to a point where I didn't want to waste my time anymore so I bought a different new Hob.The fact that the same product stopped working in less than a year twice it's not a great sign m Also, I'm not a big fan a support services which pretend to be helpful but they are not.

Takes a while to be hot enough to flash fry or stir fry looks really nice but nothing like my last oven for heat and the alarms annoying you can't spray it to wipe it without drying it immediately or rest your pan or utensil for a second because it screatches at you with a high pitched alarm
