Great budget delay!
Got this pedal for a mini board for small gigs and I was really impressed by it. It’s pretty simple to use: just four knobs and a chorus/vibrato button (slow vs fast modulation speed). It definitely sounds similar to the DMM and can go into self-oscillation for fun spaceship noises. Though the repeats are pretty dark and gritty, they stay pretty present in the mix even on quieter passages. I was also happy that the blend goes from dry only to 100 percent wet with no dry signal. Very useful for lo-fi sounds. Only nitpick is that if you run hotter signals into it (digital keyboards or synths that have line output levels), the repeats can distort and lose some clarity. Still great value for your money!

As close to an EHX DMM in miniature as you can get imho. Great price too.
This is a really good sounding and quality DMM clone for the price. I bought one of the first DMM's in 1980 what a great pedal and this is a great version. The original DMM has a gain knob to adjust which I wish this had but is a minor ding compared to the sound, quality, features, and price. It is a compact size, uses 9v, and is a quality unit equal to or better than EHX imho.I want to rave about Xvive customer service: I had an issue caused by my own abuse of the pedal. When I contacted Xvive about a repair they instead replaced it with a new one after I shipped the funky unit back to them. Wow-that is good customer relations!I would not hesitate to buy any of their products. Customer service doesn't get any better than that!

Good, but only for subtle compression
First of all, I am not a professional bass player. I just like to noodle around and cover some songs I like. I do have over 15 years of live sound engineering experience. This was my first pedal for bass. I'm cheap and I wasn't about to spend close to the same amount of money on a pedal that I spent on my bass. So I liked the price and since it has an overdrive built in that's like 2 pedals for the price of one. Well I'll go ahead and spoil it for you the overdrive is not great. Maybe you'll like it, but the tone is not to my taste. Not to mention the switch for overdrive is small and hard to get to, so you really can't switch on overdrive on the fly. Overall the pedal is quiet even with my cheap wall wart power supply. The compression effect is noticeable. However, the issue I have with it is that since there is no threshold control, once you start to really up the compression it starts to amplify string noise and kind of muddy the sound. In my experience, you are good until about 11 o'clock but past that and it really starts to get muddy. So if you just want a little bit of compression I think this pedal will work out great for you. It's inexpensive, quiet, plays nice with cheap power supplies, its simple to use, and seems sturdy. I'm not about to spend a bunch of money on a bass compressor with more controls on it so I think for me the next step will be a cheap bass limiter so I can really clamp down on the louder transients without also bringing up too much ambient noise.

Great pedal
Hi my name is Steve and I am a pedal junky. I have quite a few pedals, and am always trying out new ones and trading with my friends. If you check out my reviews, you'll see a few for pedals and you'll see that I can be a pretty tough reviewer. I saw these on a lightning deal at a good price, and looked up some videos of Thomas Blug demoing them, and then ordered the Dynarock and the Golden Brownie. In a nutshell, both of these pedals are excellent. You can safely order both as they are completely different soundwise. The Dynarock has a stronger bottom end that is very tight, with a somewhat scooped mid and a lovely, detailed treble. It is very amp like and has great response to the pick. Awesome pedal with a unique, addictive sound. The Golden Brownie is no less awesome with a nice singing midrange and a beautiful and prominent treble. Neither pedal gets into that stinging, brittle high end that some pedals are notorious for. There are very usable tones over the full range of the knobs..There is a lot of gain available with both pedals, but one of the nice features is that the gain can be dialed back if needed. A real musician designed these and it shows. I also made some inquiries to their customer service (apparently in China), and I received very quick responses. Highly recommended.

. Product defective and X-Vive will not respond to my claim under warranty.
The pedal comes nicely packaged and looks gorgeous. However, I forgot to test it before the Amazon return window closed, trusting in X-Vive's one (1) year warranty of the product, as stated on their website. When I did tested the product, it failed to work. I contacted the email address given to claim warranty of a registered product (which I did register at their website) and I have received no answer from X-Vive. If the company honors it's warranty and sends me a replacement pedal, I will amend this review. Lesson learned: Test the products before the Amazon return window closes, no matter what wonderful warranties the brand offers. I just scored a new paperweight for my desk.Edit: I decided to plug the pedal again. This time it somehow worked, but with a hum noise, even with drive, volume and drive at just 12 o’clock. It is a nice AC/DC type of rock/metal distortion pedal. I gave 3 stars, since it cost me about $20. Two stats were dropped since (1) I would not rely on this pedal oustside of home practice (the hum and the question of “will it work next time?”) and (2) X-Vive still have not answered my warranty claim.

VERY ORGANIC
SOUNDS VERY MUCH LIKE AN ORIGINAL EHX DLX MEM MAN. IT DOESN'T HAVE THE "DRY" "WET" OUTS, BUT IN REALITY...I NEVER USED AN ORIGINAL THAT WAY ANYWAY. IT DOES THAT FAUX REVERB DEAL ALSO, WHEN YOU SPEED UP THE TIME, & GET MULTIPLE REPEATS GOING...OLD SCI-FI MOVIE SCORE MEETS RADIOHEAD ! VERY LOW NOISE ALSO...MIGHT EVEN GET ANOTHER FOR TWICE THE FUN ! T.C.

Broke after 2 months
Pedal sounds amazing but it broke after 2 months of having it at home. I used it maybe 12 times total. Just jamming at home, no gigs or anything of that nature.Took it to get repaired and the guy said it was fried.Just get the EHX memory man. Save yourself $100
