As many of the other reviews noted, these are easy to set up once you are aware of a few things which are noted below. I purchased both the small round indoor outlets and the larger outdoor outlets, so these hints apply to both items. The steps outlined in the instructions are actually pretty good but awareness of these hints will make it go much faster for you. 1- I configured my devices one at a time at the same outlet using the Smart Life app on my phone via the BLE mode. The first device is the most time consuming as you need to create a Smart Life account, identify your WIFI and put in your WIFI password. Once that is done, you don't need to do it again for subsequent devices, so it goes pretty fast after that. 2- As noted in the instructions, just plugging the device into an outlet will put the device into its pairing mode and it will appear in the app as "Smart plug x" where x = the number of devices added to the app. I did have one device that didn't appear after plugging it in, so pressing and holding the button on the device for 5 seconds put it into the pairing mode and it connected successfully. 3- As each device is detected, you should edit the name of the device from "Smart plug x" to a meaningful description e.g "Smart plug kitchen". I also wrote the description on the device with a sharpie as several of the devices will be used with Christmas lights and will be stored away in the off season. 4- I just wanted mine to power on and off as specific times. To do this, tap on "timer" for the device in the app and then tap on "add schedule". The thing to remember is that each schedule added only does one function (on or off), so if you want it to power on at a specific time, that's one schedule and if you want it to power off at a specific time, that's another schedule. The schedules just pile up in the order that you add them for the device and execute based on the time and the function (on or off) that you choose. Note that the indoor and outdoor devices behave a little differently from each other in the app because the outdoor devices have 2 individually configurable outlets, so it is a little more complicated but pretty obvious. You can also manually power the devices on and off via the app even with schedules in place.

I have ordered these several times and use them in both houses. They are easy to set up and I come up with new way to use them including electric heaters, Xmas candle lights emergency lights and as a way on WiFi devices that go offline in my seasonal home to make like I am unplugging the device to get it to reset. I have a whole house Generac 22k generator but WiFi devices like my Moen Flo will go offline because of WiFi problems and may not go back online without disconnecting from the power. I also use timed scheduling for my Xmas window lights and seasonal lighting

There’s so many amazing things I could say about these outlets but the one thing I will say is that they connect a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi so if you have 5G, they won’t connect, but I have a 5G hotspot that actually allows you to make another connection so I have a 5G and a 2.4 Both from my modem But after you figure out connectivity, these things will never drop you can control them from your phone and do a number of amazing things like turning on humidifiers dehumidifiers lights fans, anything and all links to a great smart app that has other products I have thermostats, smart cameras everything all under one app you can label and name things there’s Timers it’s actually so impressive. I feel old at 45 with the technology that this thing has I’ve used a lot of different Wi-Fi connected devices that always drop connectivity and when you come back home, you have to reconnect the device anything connected to this device in any of the products that are associated with it never lose connectivity ever.

So far so good BUT keep in mind that you cannot plug two of them under one another, it won't fit! And it does not fit next to any kind of plug either (eg. our internet router plus is too big to be next to one). I just plugged a couple of them and that's a bit of a bummer to be honest. I'm gonna still play with them and schedule some timer (the intended use) but I'm gonna have to be creative with their placement/use around the house. I think I'll keep them just because I got a pack of 4 for fairly cheap (used), but I might have to keep looking at other options moving forward. We'll see how they hold up.

I stopped using smart plugs years ago because pairing them was always a headache, so I had low expectations. These plugs were super simple. Once I set the first one, which was straight forward, the app connected the others with no effort. The timers have various options which were easy to set. If anything changes I will follow up.

Great fun. Easy to setup even if you’re not super technical. 1st one takes a few tries but the rest to follow take a minute. Super great for setting up schedules- many as you want for on/off scheduled times. Nice to turn on/off anytime from the app from anywhere.

These plugs worked well. It took a little playing before I could tell the difference between a fast blink and a slow on, but I got it pretty quickly and easily configured the first one. The other three were easy. I was easy connecting them to Alexa. I was leery buying them, because my old Broad Link plugs were such a pain. With those Broad Links, they would freak out and I'd have to reattached them to the Wifi fairly often and spend several minutes goofing with my phone to get them going again. I've used the EightTree plug for over a month now and so far, so good...

I bought the Eightree smart plug hoping for convenience, and while it worked fine at first, it stopped connecting to the network after just six months of light, occasional use. For something with such limited wear, I expected better longevity.That said, the seller stepped in and made things right, which I really appreciate. This was originally a 2-star review, but their response and willingness to help changed my impression. They promised a refund which they delivered on.
