nice little FPV monitor and receiver
The price seems about right on this unit. It provides a nice, analog picture for both direct, RCA inputs as well as with the 5.8 GHz wireless receiver. The included antennas are not amazing, but they're OK, and it's cheap and easy to upgrade them, which I planned to do anyway. I ran out of range on my 2.4 GHz RC buggy transmitter before I lost signal on this FPV receiver, but it was starting to break up a bit, which was at about 100 ft and through a house, trees, and an earth berm. Not bat at all. It works great with the cheap FPV VTX and camera combo I purchased, which was pretty effortless to setup with this VRX. The hard plastic cover and sun shade that closes over the screen is nice to have and functional. Although I have yet to determine what thread size it is (it's not a standard tripod lug thread), I was able to attach the threaded hole on the bottom of the unit using some spare metric screws to a camera tripod, which was convenient for viewing. It seems close to either a 5m or 6m thread size. There is some kind of slot on the back for a stand, but I couldn't find any information for it. There are a couple of STL files on Thingiverse for 3D printing a stand for it that fit into that slot, but I haven't tried them yet. It's also neat that you can use it as an analog monitor with a Raspberry Pi, or with any analog video source, which I have tried and verified that it works well, but newer RPi's may need to alter their settings for analog output. I got this instead of video goggles because, according to FAA regs, you have to have a spotter if you fly your RC aircraft with FPV goggles, and it's just common sense if you don't want to risk losing your RC aircraft. With this monitor I don't need a spotter, it's cheaper than goggles, I can maintain direct line of site with my aircraft but also enjoy and share the FPV camera at the same time with others, and record the video as well to a micro SD card. The internal battery is also nice to have, although I haven't field tested it to see how long it will last while receiving a signal from the VTX. I would imagine it will outlast the battery in both my aircraft and my FPV camera, so I doubt it would be an issue. I have not used this unit extensively yet, but initial tests are good, the unit seems solid, it's easy to set up with a VTX, and the menu system was easy to navigate.

Super laggy DVR
It's nice to watch a live feed from your quadcopter, the battery life lasts a while and the range is pretty good. The playback from the memory card is super choppy. If you're thinking about getting it mainly for the DVR function, don't. I have been using it for my spectators as I'm under goggles so they can watch too. It works good for that.

Nice FPV LCD screen
This is a perfect FPV LCD screen. It has a wide range of bands. The auto search feature works great. The lcd has a matt finish which makes it easier to see in daylight and I really like the DVR feature. Being able to record and play back from the device itself is very nice. The only downside was that there is no volume control. I wish there were a switch (analog or digital) to mute or adjust the volume up or down but there is not. This is a big flaw but not big enough for me to rate the product lower. Because I do not use audio on my fpv flight video, I was able to open the device up and unplug the audio cable from the speaker. I understand that I voided the warranty but I wanted to keep the product anyway as I use it all of the time. I otherwise this is a fantastic product.I upgrade the antennas immediately to some 5” omnidirectional fpv antennas and I get great reception. With my 1.6watt VTX, I can get a clear signal line of sight for more than a mileBattery lasts for a long time. Over 2 hours for me but I haven’t flown more than a 2 hour flight and when I was done flying the lcd has plenty of juice. It charges fast within an hour to 100% and the case is a nice addition. The sun screen is a perfect feature too.
