For several weeks, I suffered incredible non-stop pain from a ruptured disc. The region's top surgeon opined that "Your only option is spinal fusion." Dr. Joe disagreed. With his bodywork, meditative teachings, and encouragement, along with training suggestions from Professor Bradley Steiner, my martial arts instructor of 30 years, I was able to cheat the hangman as my disc repaired itself.Several years of quantitative analyses on students in his Advanced 4-day workshops in many venues, literally around the globe have led to this, his latest book. Confirmation of the model came from analyzing and measuring brain waves/scans, neurotransmitters, and heart coherence, as well as internal and external energy levels. He concludes, "We now have data from common people, just like you and I, so that once they understand what they're doing and why they're doing it, (practicing and implementing) the 'how' gets easier." We spend the majority of our time either living by past emotions/habits or anticipating the future overlain with the old guideposts. But this powerful concept doesn't keep us from dredging up past behaviors and replicating them, if not in the present, then certainly in the future, when we invariably "fall out of being present". When negative self-talk crops up, I quickly defuse its effect by simply thinking "Release". You might visualize the idea sailing away or disintegrating - before it can become a feeling, followed closely by a physical sensation of tension, anger or depression. Even if it persists for a while, it seems to have been stripped of its power to bother me. Soon, I get up and do something as it fades away, having deprogrammed my subconscious one more time.Second, find a couple of things each day for which to be grateful. Try to choose something you'd like which has not yet taken place. The powerful act of expressing gratitude before it happens is an element in creating the future you wish to experience. Dr. Joe is the only person I've ever met who suggested this...and it works!Third, certain words or phrases can be highly emotive. Before arising each morning, I state silently, "I approach this day with Gratitude, Respect, Observation, and Wisdom (GROW)."Finally, release these thoughts into the Quantum Field, asking that they are organized in a helpful way; that they are returned in an unexpected, powerful, and positive manner.Dr. Joe states, "The only way to become "supernatural" is we have to start doing what feels unnatural - then keep doing it over and over again. I’m already a huge fan of his work. The amount of time and energy spent doing scientific research while also changing peoples lives is amazing. This book made me change the way I think.

Oooh, so happy! Got me some more Dr. Joe to study!His work and magnificent body of meditational materials has changed my life. I found Dr. Joe while recovering from a botched knee surgery. The surgery pretty much ruined my life and put me on the couch, icing and elevating. I spent months going home after work and icing and elevating. (I mentioned it was a botched surgery, yes?) (I didn't mention that shortly after my botched surgery the surgeon that looked me in the eye and said everything was hunky-dory... died in a accident.. so I was plum out of luck on all fronts!) 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinion were that my knee was ruined and only a total knee replacement could fix. The surgery had quite literally, stopped me in my tracks. Which, as it turns out, was necessary because apparently I needed to s l o w d o w n.So, there I am, on the couch, icing and elevating for hours each evening. Oh poor me (which I realized after my second Dr. Joe workshop is an archetype which the knee debacle brought up front and center!) From this place of utter despair (oh poor me) I found Dr. Joe and his body of meditative materials. So, I start meditating! I was stuck on the couch anyways, right? My life was over! Whatcha gonna do, watch TV until your mind turns into a blob of slimey-green-tv-goo and drains out your ears? So...I read his first two books meditated a lot. Then I went to a workshop. Then another workshop. Now mind you, I am attending these workshops using either a cane or crutches (depending on my level of pain) and totally hopped up on pain pills. Even after the workshop days ended, I went straight back to my hotel room to ice and elevate! After I attended my second workshop I was trying to figure out just how I was going to get my knee fixed without having to cough up $$$$ for a total knee replacement. My surgeon was dead and I had exhausted (what I thought) were my resources at the hospital where the botched surgery took place.The answer come to me a download while doing the work!! I often set an intention of trying to find a way to get the knee fixed. So (insert drum-roll here) I'm on my bed maybe around 1 AM meditating because I can't sleep. I'm doing the "Blessing of the Energy Centers" meditation. I get to my throat center and have this brilliant idea drop down into my brain like a hot bolt of inspirational lightening cutting through all the monkey chatter! I stop meditating right there, get out my laptop, google the hospitals Boards of Directors and start leaving messages on their machines. Bada boom bada bing. Six months later I have a total knee replacement paid for in full by the hospital. Two months after that attend a third Dr. Joe workshops and four months after that I quit taking pain pills cold turkey! All because I was doing the work, asking for a solution, received a solution to a problem during a meditation and followed through on the information without batting an eye! Now, normally I'm not a person who sticks up for myself. That is why this solution was so supernatural. Me? Call the Board of Directors and stick up for myself. ME? Really? When I had that idea, along with it came the power to do it. I swear my hands were shaking because doing such a thing was so far out of my comfort zone. But it was the answer I was looking for and by golly, I followed through with it immediately and it worked.Dr. Joe, Paula, and the entire staff, please keep the research, books, workshops and meditations coming. You are saving lives! I am loving reading the information that is behind the scenes of your meditations and workshops, as presented in this book. Also enjoy all the diagrams. I have most of them in my notes and I think... I remember this! I remember that! Oh, yea, I forgot this, I forgot that. =)Thank you for your tenacity and taking your students along for the ride. This book will help a lot of students come full circle.
