Hast knives (the blade) are made of patented Matrix powder steel [Fe(77.45%), Cr(20.0%),Ni(2.0%),C(0.45%), S&P(0.1%)]

Q: How do you sharpen these knives? Less than 13 degrees is beyond what my sharpening kit can manage.

Only with their honing device or on a whetstone.

Q: How similar is this steel to aus-10a or vg-10? also, what hardness (hrc) does this knife get to?

The Matrix powder steel's hardness after treatment is 60+. So it's harder than Vg-10 or Aus-10a. It's also more stable thus can maintain its hardness during the production process. As a result, Hast Edition series knives can achieve better sharpness and wear-resistance.
