No, power plugs into miro female (power only) and sends power to the male connector (power and data) and from whatever your powering gives power to the female connector (power and data). This is the case for this otg cable.

Q: Will this work with the FireStick wired ethernet adapter?

I have the Amazon ethernet adaptor and this OTG cable works with my Firestick 4K. I plugged in the Amazon ethernet adapter to my Firestick 4K first, then the OTG cable after that. From what I've been reading, the Firestick 4K can be finicky about which USB drives it wants to play nice with. Experiment with different ones. Seems that SanDisk drives are pretty much reliable for this setup. I hope this helps.

It varies by device. and it can change. So at this time. 1st gen sticks are not possible to do anything with. 2nd gen sticks and 4K stick you can add external storage easily but you cannot store apps or data on them. you can add music and movies to a flash drive and play it on your firestick. 4K sticks can also be formatted to allow apps to be store on an EXTRA internal storage. (2nd Gen sticks are not possibel to do this). The process i relatively easy but you do need to follow some detailed instructions perfectly for it to work. We have done it many times.
