..and I wanted a simple-to-set alarm to remind me of a time that I was doing something later in the day. And this little gem far exceeds that.Plus points.+ VERY easy to set up. The manual's English section is generally excellent and easy to follow.+ Display is very easy to read. It has two alarms, and the current set time for each is clearly displayed, as is whether either one is set to activate. (The Amazon image shows alarm 2 set for 6:15 and activated). So I have alarm 1 set to wake me up in the morning (and always activated), and alarm 2 to remind me of something I need to do during the day which I set and activate when required. Setting the alarm time is very simple, and activating an alarm is simply an on/off slider switch.+ Wake up beep starts quite soft (usually too soft for me) but soon increases in volume and frequency of beep, so it always wakes me up within a minute or two of the alarm set time.+ The night-time back-light is perfect for me and does not intrude, so I keep it switched on.General points which are not an issue for me:+ It wouldn't detect the Frankfurt time signal in my bedroom but happily did so in the lounge!+ If you are UK, the timezone during initial set up is MINUS 1.+ Only displays a 24 hour clock.+ The red button on top activates the SNOOZE. To turn the alarm off properly, press any other button.+ Since it is plastic, I would not advise chucking it at the wall if you let it wake you up on a day off, but otherwise it seems robust enough.+ I have not had it long enough to evaluate the battery life.+ A touch more expensive than other options available, but it is perfect for me and I am satisfied it was worth what I spent.

As an internationally successful inventor, I am very picky about the products I buy. Having such high standards, I am seldom totally satisfied with my purchases. Primarily for this reason, and also because I simply don't have the time, I hardly ever offer feedback. Today, however, I feel compelled to give five stars and a few words of praise to two marvellous products I have recently bought from Amazon: a great little radio and this excellent alarm clock.Its designers have earned my respect for many reasons, the most important being that they have created a great looking product that is very robust and much easier to use than any of the many alarm clocks that I have abandoned in recent years. I am not going to delve into specifics except to advise would-be purchasers to look at the claims of the manufacturers again, and then remember that at least one qualified purchaser here considers those claims wholly justified.

This is a competent travel alarm clock but not perfect.It can be set to receive a daily-time signal from germany (at around 03:00 in the morning), but if you cannot receive it, the instructions explain how to set the clock manually. You can adjust the settings to correct the time from the german radio-signal to UK time or to whatever time difference you want.I found that it wasn't intuitive to set the clock up, but the instructions were easy enough to follow.I have the blue clock, and it looks quite smart and is a nice size for travelling. It also feels quite sturdy.Pros:- clear display,- temperature included on the display.- sturdy,-stable on a besdside locker.- alarm start quiet gets loud enough and irritating enough to wake all but the heaviest sleeper.- allows 2 alrm settings, each with a different non-selectable tone. Alarm1 seems much louder and intrusive.- simple alarm on/off swithces on the sides of the clock.- snooze function at 5-minute intervals.- auto display back-light can be turned off.Cons:- even when alarm is not set, the time is displayed quite prominently on the display, that could be distracting for some,- the most annoying feature is that the the two "alarm-set" buttons shown at the front below the display are VERY easy to accidentally activate when handling the clock or especially when it is inside your bag. Ideally they should require firmer pressure to operate them, or perhaps require to be pushed for 3-5 seconds before starting an adjustment.I have been using this clock for 8-9 weeks now. Generally it has been ok. However, this morning I was woken by the alarm 1 hour earlier than I wanted. I observed that the time on the clock had been advanced by 1 hour - presumably by the DCF Time Radio Signal. I checked my settings, and it is definitely set that I am in UK, and so the time signal should be adjusted accordingly. I assume that it simply synched to the time-signal last night without correction for the UK.I have now changed the setting so that it will not receive the time signal.

Great little clock with a clear screen and easy to use Alarm. There is a little set up to be done merely to set the language (default is German) and the time zone and this is easily done using the appropriate section in the manual, once set, that's it until you have to change the batteries I presume. You also have a selection on the temperature units ie Celsius or Fahrenheit. The alarm tone could be louder or it would be nice if it increased in volume the longer it was alowwed to sound but in all honesty I found it adequate for me. The light is bright and the screen clear. I like the fact that there are two alarms and they are easy to snooze or indeed switch off with a clear indication they are active.Nice clock now all I need is long battery life and I'll be more than happy.
