Great for orchid misting set up
The timer is a little confusing to set up but works perfectly. I am using the timer with a misting system for my outdoor orchids and it is perfect. It is a little confusing to set up but with a little patients you can figure it out. If not there are plenty of videos on youtube that walk you through it. Three big things to remember 1. whether you use rechargeable batteries or not, put regular batteries in first and set your timing programs before you even hook the timer to your water supply. This way you can sit in a comfortable chair and have easy access to the buttons and screen. 2. Part of the programming is what time of day you want your program to start and what time to end. Because of this what ever program you set up will not start until the following day UNLESS you are done setting the program up by 8am and the program isn't do to start until noon the same day. 3. After you have the timer set up and you do anything with it such as turning it on and off manually remember to hit the go back arrow. I have found with mine that if I hit the off button on the timer I have basically told the timer not to run and it won't until I push the go back button. All in all I highly recommend this timer

Failed after first week
This was easy to install for my application and timer setup wasn’t bad. I ad to give this a bad review because the actuator within the timer stopped working one week later. I went through trouble shooting tips but nothing worked. The timer was working properly but it failed to open the valve when the timer was set for on time. It worked when I first bought it though.

Amazing
It is tricky to figure out how to program. Just read the instructions carefully and give it a day to reset itself after you finish programming it. It will start working and it works very well. Mine is set to turn on at 12pm and run on for 10 minutes and off for 20 minutes until 6pm every day. It works so well and this is the only timer which I can program like this. Very glad this product exists and I would definitely recommend it.

A little tricky in programming
Just received this timer so can't speak to it's longevity. Things I like: AA batteries instead of AAA, will run longer; small solar cel (we'll see if it really helps); very programmable - I was able to set duration of run and off intervals, run hours (I am turning off at night), and run days. It says it has a rain sensor, we'll see how well that works.Had trouble getting program to run. Both the company web site and phone number in instructions are bogus, frustrating.A sell website had the following note (red and bold on their site):MAKE SURE WHEN SETTING A TIME TO COME ON THAT'S EARLIER THAN THE EXISITING TIME, THE TIMER WILL COME ON YOUR SET TIME ON THE NEXT SCHEDULED DAYSeeing this I faked out the timer by setting time at 11:55 pm and then set program to start at 12:01 and now it is clicking on and off. My five star rating will stand if it keeps working. Cool product, bad documentation.

Four years and counting
Growing about 90 orchids outside, facing South, under shade cloth. Purchased this Timer II in July 2018 and it’s being used since then, without any glitches, every year for 8 months each year. It comes on at 10AM until 6PM every day and runs every 12 minutes for a duration of 10 seconds. It controls misters that lower the leaf temperatures. I dismantle, clean and store it inside from November to February and use fresh batteries when reinstalling it in March. Yes, the setup is a tad challenging but once up n running you never have to revisit it. Finally, a product that lives up to it’s intended purpose.

Fantastic timer for mist systems
Finding a timer for an intermittent misting system to propagate cuttings leaves very few options but this timer does the trick without breaking the bank on installing a complex timer setup with sprinkler valves and an indoor power supply. I use this timer to run mist for 5-7 seconds every 6-7 minutes and it does a great job. It has been going strong for 3 years now with only 1 change of batteries (and this was just me being cautious) The timer has a built in solar panel that will recharge rechargeable batteries. As most reviews mention the set up is a little tricky but like anything programmable once you figure it out it is a breeze. Only negatives about the unit I can think of is that if you program the unit to start at an earlier time in the day than the time you are programming the unit it will not start until the next day. (If anyone knows a work around this please comment as I would love to know) Also if you use manual on/off it will cancel your program for the rest of the day . If you make this mistake all is not lost you can simply program another program to finish out the day (it has 9 different programs it can run) and then turn that off when it is no longer needed.Long story short, if you need a timer that can operate in seconds rather than minutes this will do the trick.

You get what you pay for... unfortunately
Don't waste your money. I needed a reliable, easy to use timer for propagation - I was hoping to spend little money but of course you get what you pay for. This timer is NOT easy to program, once you figure it out, it doesn't seem to follow the program you set, and it started to fall apart within a week - the plastic parts break off right away. That old adage, "you get what you pay for" surely applies here.

It works.
Does what it supposed to do. Simple enough to program. Only complaint is it’s completely plastic. I had a bushing break. Could be more heavy duty.
