This two in one book gives a really good overview of the cultivation of mushrooms, including which mushrooms are easier to grow and what specific methods of cultivation work the best. It also provides specific instructions on those cultivation techniques including DIY hacks. The Medicinal book reviews the different mushroom species and their uses and then switches to a review of many health conditions and lists what ever studies can show regarding treatment outcomes. I think it is well written, comprehensive and reasonably detailed manual for growing and then using mushrooms for health benefits.

I found this book to explain how to grow mushrooms in great detail, both indoors and outdoors. I love the medical mushroom sections lay out, that has an section that allows a way to quickly lookup the mushroom that applies to each medical condition and also a section to look up the details of each mushroom by name.

There is a lot a great information in these books about mushrooms. I highly recommend this bundle.

I have read prior works by Richard Bray on mushroom growing and this one adds more details and useful insight to his previous work. Richard does an amazing job finding the right mix between academic publications that are informative but hard to translate to real world understanding and processes and hands on step by step instruction style which leaves you with no understanding of the why and adapting the step to alternate scenarios. While I have taken formal courses in cultivating mushrooms and read numerous books I always learn something new and useful information I can apply to my need every time I read one of Richard’s book. If you want to be a successful practitioner of mushroom cultivation I highly recommend getting this book as a important component of your library on the topic.

This book was surprisingly easy to read considering I knew nothing of the subject before picking it up.If you have any interest in producing mushrooms to eat yourself or to sell, this is a great book.

The first section on mushroom cultivation is a good place to start for those interested in growing and harvesting their own mushrooms. The advantages and disadvantages of several different methods of cultivating mushrooms are discussed in detail. The second section on medicinal mushrooms is a fairly comprehensive guide. Each mushroom is listed for it's medicinal uses as well as how to prepare it for consumption. This book is well worth it.

Most of my mycelium books are fantastic reference resources, but not the best at just hooking a curious friend or family into learning more. This is an informative and easy to read approach. A pathway to success!
